NOVEMBER 2009 Newsletter

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE – ROXY LEHN

Presidents ramblings.

Time to elect new officers. Let’s try to get some new blood into the officer ranks and maybe some new energy. Looking for nominations or volunteers. We will be taking nominations at the November meeting on 11/7.

Not much hot rod action out there but our annual support of the XXX Jingle bell cruz Toys for tots is coming up on Dec 6. Gather some new unwrapped toys to donate and the club will also kick in on a donation. I will send out more information in the near future.

See you all at the next meeting 11/7 at 10:30 at the Performance Grill.

CRUISE INTO FALL
We received lots of positive comments from participants.
We got two new members at the show: Elmer January and Judith Wegman.
We received a thank you note from the Enumclaw Sr. Center:

Lessons Learned:
1. Carolyn Mitzel will solicit downtown Enumclaw businesses for donations.
2. There were complaints that some people got more than one trophy.
3. Next year we need to use the goody bags from the Chamber of Commerce for ours.
4. Next year Mike needs to give a brief description of each award before he presents it.
5. Main awards should be bigger. We need to do more planning on awards.
6. Mike needs to do more mike promotion of dealers and new members.
7. A lot of people were not registered.

TREASURER’S REPORT
We took in $4,005 on the show. We made $765 on the raffle.
Expenses were: $305 for trophies, $80 for stamps, $500 for donations, $300 for sanicans, and $500 for the Sr. Center.

OF INTEREST
The prices for the club jacket are as follows:
On pg.423 of the 2009 catalog, the jacket is J761, and the price is $59.98. The large logo (8" wide) on the back of the jacket is $36.00. The small logo on the front of the jacket is $12.50. A person's name on the jacket is $7.00. The jacket price has gone up, and the embroidery on the jacket back is up as well since the size of the logo is now 8" wide. We're keeping the embroidery prices the same as they were before for the small logo and the name.

HOW THE FIGHT STARTED…………………….

I asked my wife, 'Where do you want to go for our anniversary?'
It warmed my heart to see her face melt in sweet appreciation.
'Somewhere I haven't been in a long time!' she said.
So I suggested, 'How about the kitchen?'

A note from Mike Lebow Regarding the Cruise Into Fall

Dear Gang…

It has been an extra day of rest for me. I finally can talk almost normally now (which is probably too much for most of you anyway) but I wanted to thank those of you who worked hard at and for the event this year and wanted to say that YOU were who makes this event a success! It was especially good this year as we broke all records and in talking with the Chamber of Commerce, only good things are buzzing around town so we all did a good thing with this show and you ALL should be very proud.

I have told many people in the last few weeks who have called about the show that we donate to charities around the area and they were very impressed and came to the show because of that. I also told them if they wanted to “pay it forward” to do a good deed for someone else and maybe it will keep going a while as this world could use stuff like that! I certainly can say that would be a good thing

Anyway, you should pat yourselves on the back from this one as you deserve it!

Oh, one last thing….I told some of you that I was getting calls up to 10:30 PM the night before the show, but I also had a few calls the day of the show one was at 5:30 AM (I was long gone anyway). Needless to say, I didn’t call or the others back!

Again, thank you all!
